Accommodation at Avoca is basic and comfortable, sleeping 6 guests in either twin or double chalets, each with their own bathrooms. Each room is a little log cabin built beneath tall trees and within close proximity to the main lodge area, pool, and boma. Please note that only children over the age of 12 can be accommodated at Avoca.
The cabins have green, tiled roofs and old fashioned, farm-style windows, which are finished with bug screens. Every cabin has a wooden deck, offering a good spot from which to sit and enjoy the surrounding birdsong with a good book in hand.
The camp has been built among a tangle of tall trees, forest-like in summer, and full of birds. The setup of the cabins ensures a certain level of privacy, but the accommodation is designed to create an intimate, group getaway experience.
There are 3 chalets, each with a twin/double bed configuration dependent on your needs. One of these is the family chalet that sleeps 2 people, but can be configure to sleep 4 people when the camp is hired out on an exclusive basis. Most rooms have en suite showers and toilets, while two rooms have adjacent bathrooms, one housing a bathtub, and the other a shower.
The windows and doors are equipped with bug screens, keeping pesky mosquitos at bay. Each room has a wooden cupboard with shelving and hanging space, extra blankets, and bedside tables. Chalets are close enough together to be close to family and other guests, yet far enough a part to retain a sense of privacy.
The power in the rooms is solar charged, and not designed for charging batteries and cellphones, but there are charging facilities in the main area. The water in the taps is safe to drink, and the pressure is good in the gas-geyser shower.
